LO5: Exporting Final Collection

For the final images I will be using lossless file types to make sure that the images are of the highest quality for both presenting and distributing the photos to the client and the customer. I will be using TIFF file types. TIFF file types are lossless meaning that there is no compression in the images. This means that the image are of a higher quality but it also means that the photos themselves are also massive in terms of file size this mans that I will need a high capacity sd card to both take and then export the images after I have finished editing them.

For the exporting I also selected the highest colour range and this allowed me to capture the best image and produce the best final result. As well as selecting all of the options to embed metadata into each of the images.

LO3: Evidence Of Photos/Shot Types and Settings

All of the photos in the collection were taken within an hour time frame. This meant that I could keep the camera setting for the image relatively similar once I had the look I wanted on the test images. I was able to use a lot of natural light that was coming into the room. This meant that the photos that I took did not have to rely heavily on artificial brightness in the image therefore reducing the amount of grain in the photos to where it is not noticeable. I have also been able to use filters on the camera which meant that I had a lot more room to apply and edit certain colours throughout the collection.

I also used a variety of different shot types to make sure that I could capture all of the photos that I needed. I mainly used both wide and narrow shot types this is because I wanted the images to focus on the strong center subject. I also experimented with low and high angle shots to add some variety to the collection.

For the shots that worked the best in the final collection I personally really liked the worms eye shots because of the weird effect that they had on the image. I also really liked the shots which I took which I had deliberately blurred out parts of the image. This allowed me to be able to focus on specific parts of the image such as the pasties or the label allowing me to create much more interesting images. I tried to use some images that had a change in light and focus but these came out either too overexposed or too blurry to use effectively for the collection.

The settings were:

F-Stop: 5.6

ISO: 800

Exposure: 1/25

LO4: Embedding Metadata/Evidence

Benefits of using metadata

Embedding metadata into images can have several positive benefits, including:

Easy organization and management: Metadata can be used to label images with important information such as the date and location of capture, the camera and lens used. This makes it easier to organize and search for specific images.

Copyright protection: Embedding copyright information in the metadata of an image can help protect against unauthorized use or theft of images. This is particularly important for photographers and other creatives who rely on their work for income.

Preservation of information: Metadata can be used to preserve important information about an image, such as the date and location of capture, even if the image is copied or modified.
